May 14 was Isaac's 11th birthday. Here he is ready to open his presents!! We had already had his birthday dinner of Cheese potato soup and rolls and a salad that Far Mor made.
Here's his dad Rob and Uncle Jeff and his brothers waiting to watch him open his presents. Stina is sitting in the back ground.
Now he can play with dad and Sam and David. Just what we needed another guitar in the house.
Here he is with his cake. He wanted chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and reeses peanut butter cups on it.
It was very chocolately and very good.
On Friday of last week Isaac had three friends over for a sleepover. They had a fire and roasted hotdogs. We also had s'mores. They slept in the backyard in the tent and played lots of kickball. David played ghost in the graveyard and capture the flag with them well into the night.
Here they are on the trampoline. They spent alot of time on the trampoline also.
The next morning they had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. It was a very successful sleepover!
Just over eleven years ago I went into the Dr. for a normal appointment and they could not find Isaac's heart beat. They did an ultra sound and found that he had turned around and was not heading the right direction. (A week before I had gone in and had him turned, not a pleasant procedure and he had turned right back.) So, the doctor decided I should come in the next morning and they would turn Isaac and induce labor right away. But Isaac did not want to turn. So they brought in a Dr. that was expert in delivering breach babies and took an x-ray to see if that is what they wanted to do. But they did not feel comfortable delivering him that way so we stayed around until 5:00 pm and had a c-section. It was a good thing they had not tried to deliver him breach because he was sitting with his hand behind his head and they would have had to do an emergency c-section anyway. He weighed 6 lbs and 5 oz. And we were so happy to have him here. Isaac was born with the best dimples ever and has the best smile.

Idaho's Potato Museum
While traveling through the area of Blackfoot, Idaho for Chelsie's wedding and reception, Hannah and I happened upon the Idaho Potato Museum. We thought how fun and decided to stop in and learn a little more about the Idaho Potato.
Her I am in front of the store. Does this not make you want to visit the museum?
Now this would definately draw you in. Here is Hannah with the giant baked potato in front of the museum.
Here is Hannah entering the potato cellar. To get this far you have to pay $3 a person and walk through a hallway explaining how the potato came to Idaho and the history of the potato from the early Aztec people. It was all very interesting.
In the "cellar" Hannah sat on an old potato harvester. She would make a great little farm girl.
This a potato masher collection. Yes those are all potato mashers. Each one is labeled telling you who it belonged to and where it came from. The little cards on the case explain that the case was an Eagle project!! Now why can't we find a project like that for Sam?
This is the world's largest potato chip made by the pringle company. Wow!
Hannah found a little spud to love while we were there. Is he not a cutie.
The museum gave us free boxes of hash browns when we left but we needed something we could sink our teeth into right then!! We highly recommend the museum while you are visiting Blackfoot, Idaho. Millie

Why I do what I do.
On Mother's Day my wonderful family let me sleep in and shower and get ready for church in peace and then served me this wonderful breakfast. There was lots of fruit and eggs and toast and the hash browns Hannah and I brought back from the Potato museum ( I promise I will blog the museum soon!!). It was wonderful.
But this is why I really do what I do!! These are my five great kids. A pretty good looking bunch if I do say so myself.
This is how I usually see them. They can be a motley crew. But I love them.
I know they look like a tough bunch but they really are sweethearts!!
I love my kids and I would not give up my job for any amount of money or fame or anything else!! Thanks for a great Mother's Day and for being the best kids ever!! Mom

Only In Idaho
Here we are ready for our trip!! Hannah and I took 5 days and made a road trip to Rexburg, Idaho for Chelsie's wedding. We had a great time together and wanted to share a few of our adventures with our fellow bloggers!! Now for my disclaimer: I was born and raised most of my life in Idaho. I love Idaho. Some of my favorite people (Maudie and Rick and family) live in Idaho. This blog is in no way or means meant to be derogatory towards Idaho. With that said here are some of the fun things we saw on our trip.
Idaho has some of the best rest areas around!! This one out side of Blackfoot was one of our favorites. It just looks cool and was full of all kinds of info about Idaho. We wanted to hike around the outside where there are trails and lava beds but as you can see it was pouring down rain this particular afternoon. Idaho only gets about 9 inches of rainfall a year and I think it all fell on this afternoon.
Idaho must have 5 or 6 different lisence plates!! This is the standard one but you can also get one with a fish or a blue bird or the capitol building or an elk just to name a few.
This lovely Idaho Potato sign greeted us in Blackfoot. Unfortunately we were too busy to actually stop in at the rabie clinic. What exactly goes on in a rabie clinic is still a mystery to us.
This is the sign that picqued our interest and brought us into Rigby population 3,000 to see the actual home of TV.
We drove through Rigby twice and finally located the TV and Pioneer museum. We did not pay the $2 to go in because we were saving our money for the Potato Museum (more on that fun adventure later!!). Idaho is the actual home of the TV tube thanks to Mr. Farnsworth.
This is Wyatt (there were at least 3 little boys named Wyatt at the reception) and his beautiful and very nice aunt Annie. Notice Wyatt's jeans, plaid shirt, scuffed up cowboy boots and ranchers jacket (I tried to get a picture of the grown men dressed like Wyatt but was unable to get a good one. I am sure a few of them thought I was stalking them.) He was a cutie. And we had lots of fun with Annie, watching her and the young man who was trying to woo her!!
This is a dealership full of very large pickup trucks!! You see these large vehicles in every parking lot and driveway. They like to drive them big in Idaho.
Yes this is exactly what you think it is.... a port-a-potty in the air. We like you were amazed at the sight. It was just hanging there somewhere near Blackfoot, Moreland and Riverside on our way to the stake center. It makes you ask the question "Why?"
Yes this is a giant baked potato!! We spent some lovely time at the Idaho Potato museum in Blackfoot and will blog about that adventure later!! I know you can hardly wait.
Where we stayed in Rexburg (at Kimberly' mom's house, thanks again, it was great!) right across the street lived these animals. They alone were interesting enough until while driving through Blackfoot we came upon...
this horse on top of a building. Let it be known this was not the only horse we found on a building in Blackfoot and the surrounding vacinity. We are not sure why they like large plastic animals or why they put them on their buildings.
If you are looking for adventure you may want to try out this waterpark we found outside of Twin Falls. I am not sure why they thought if they put two slides on the side of a large mound of dirt they thought they would have a waterpark! If that be the case, you could build waterparks all over Idaho for we saw quite a few large mounds of dirt.
And here we are on our way home. (These are my new sunglasses. I am still trying to get use to them. I am afraid I look like an oompa loompa!!) We had a great time and were so glad we went. The wedding was wonderful. Chelsie is my first Laurel to get married and I am so proud of her for doing it the right way. And it was so fun being with Hannah. She is a great road trip partner!! And special thanks to Maudie and Rick for putting up with us for two nights. Their picture should be here amongst the great things about Idaho!! Millie
