On a recent family camping trip we pulled over at a little place along the highway called Arcadia Beach. We had never been here before. It was a cute fun little piece of beach.
We had a picnic here. Luke played on the tree trunk. (Hannah is going to show me how to make my pictures turn up the right way!! Or I will have to just stop taking long way pictures!!)
There were 3 or 4 picnic tables and a bathroom (yeah) and we enjoyed our picnic which included squeaky cheese and sausage and crackers from the Tillamook cheese factory. Sam was into his book and carried it along for the picnic. He was reading "Skin" by Ted Dekker, Sam's new favorite author. (I did read Boneman's Daughter by him and liked it.)
Down on the beach the tide was going out and there was a little alcove and cave like areas. We are not sure what this green stuff is. Looked pretty on the rocks though. The rocks were also covered with little muscles (the kind in shells that some people actually eat)!
The rock was really cool looking. Not as cool as Rob as course but cool none the less.
Hannah and Luke looking at the rock. (Luke is not doing what it may look like he is doing!! He used the restroom up by the picnic area! I promise!)
Sam and David very interested in whatever Isaac is saying. A rare picture in deed!!
Sam and David climbed up on the rocks. And looked down in disdain as I had them pose for yet another picture.
We had a great time on our camping trip and enjoyed discovering this little piece of beach we had not previously known about. Millie

The 4th of July...an Eisenhauer Extravaganza!!
This year like every year the Eisenhauers put on their big firework show. I am not kidding here it is big!!
Renny (pictured here with Courtney who made it on time this year!! Yeah Courtney!!) is in charge of the actual firing off of the fire works. He lines up the launchers (there is one big bin just full of launchers) and with the help of Frank, Mike (he's with Courtney), Ike and a neighbor he proceeds to put on a show of constant fireworks for 20 minutes. I know you are thinking that I am exagerating but this year I actually timed it and it was 20 minutes of non stop firework display.
Did I mention that a lot of people show up? This year around 150 people lined the street to enjoy the show. It seems to get bigger every year.
Did I mention that there are a lot of fire works? This is one of 2 bins and this does not include the fireworks the kids get to do before the show begins.
And of course there is lots of food. A friend of Frank's brings his big grill and grills up a mess of hamburgers and hotdogs. And every one else brings potluck. It is usually all gone by the end of the evening. Did I mention that things don't really get started until around 9:30? Yes we are all eating a meal then!!
Frank (seen here seriously conversing with Lorna) is the man in charge. He loves this day. He gets out his little sound system and welcomes the crowd. He has Rob sing the National Anthem and Proud to be an American. He is every where at once greeting people and keeping Renny on schedule.
Here is Ike with his daughter Lanie. She does not like the loud noise and wears big earphones.
And here is Ike with his daughter Chase. She does not enjoy the noise or the fireworks and spent most of the evening in her room listening to music.
This Courtney with her son Kurt enjoying the food. That Kurt is quite a character.
All in all it was a great time enjoyed by all. We can hardly wait for next year!! Millie

24 for years!!!
Today is our anniversary. Rob and I have been married for 24 years today!! This picture kind of puts it all in perspective!! (And it was taking me too long to find one of just Rob and I!!) We went Thursday to Skamania Lodge and spent the night and the whole next day together. We had a great time. Today the kids made us a really great dinner, Lasagna (home made), salad, beans, garlic bread and yes for dessert cheese cake with fresh strawberries. These have been some great years and I am looking forward to the next 24! I love you Rob!! Millie
