Not done yet!

So, on Saturday morning David raked these leaves making it the third time we have raked or blown the leaves this month. It would not seem like a big deal but the tree still looks like this...

We have a few more rakings to go before we are done this season! Millie

The annual Halloween party!!!

So, every year we have this halloween party. We invite the same 5 couples we have invited for years. Sorry to say the Scherettes could not make it this year. We missed them and their meatballs immensely. We potluck so there is always good food and every one comes in costume. We use to have pretty elaborate costumes but we all learned it easier to do simple and comfortable.

Rob and I were sick and tired this year.

The MacDonalds just go back from the islands. They were complete with socks and sandals.

I threw this one in so you could see Carol in the background because she hates being in the picture.

Representing our working class were the Browns in their fireman gear.

We always have some sport couple and this year it was the Hollingsheads with a basketball player and the blind referee.

Most creative this year were the Cobabes with a cat and hair ball!! We had lots of fun visiting and playing Wacky Six. We can hardly wait for next year's party. Millie

You know its fall when......

....your friend brings caramel apples to book club. Shauna made these and they were almost too pretty to eat...almost!! I waited until the caramel started to run off and then ate it. I did share with my family, some of them! Caramel apples just say fall and when they are also dipped in white chocolate and rolled in mini chips...they also say yummmmmie!

....the grass is green again. You see we don't water our lawn, so when the summer gets hot and we go awhile without rain it turns all brown. But then fall comes and we get some rain and some sunshine and the grass turns green again. And of course there are leaves on it!!

....you see the 18 year old dancing with leaves!! There were three leaves hanging from a spider web and blowing in the wind. Sam thought they were cool and we were trying to get a picture of them, thus the dancing!

....muddy shoes are left by the back door after a trip to the corn maze and pumpkin patch. I am not sure how long they have to sit by the back door.

....a big pumpkin appears on your doorstep. Sam went to the corn maze and pumpkin patch (hence the muddy shoes seen in the background) with Kaylynn and brought home this beautiful pumpkin. I love fall. I love the colors, the smells, the pumpkins and the weather (cool nights and sunny days). Millie

So, I found these pictures....Does anyone look familiar?

This was at Grandpa Mecham's 90th birthday party.

From a Christmas card.

The first one is a trip to the beach when we first moved out here. I think it was our first trip to cape look out. Then second is at Renny and Katie's wedding. Aren't old pictures fun! Millie

Scouts

Luke has now earned his bobcat award and we are working on his wolf!!

David has earned his life award and we are now working (and nagging) on his eagle!! We will be scouting for a really long time still. Yeah! Millie

Is this really me?

Why is it in every picture taken of me I look like I am on queluids (okay sound it out!)? I look in the mirror and this is not who I see. Why does the camera always catch me looking like this? Just a simple question or two. Millie

The leaves are falling

So, the leaves have begun to fall. And the raking begins. This may not seem like much to you but believe me it is just the beginning. Because this is what is left on the tree....

See what I mean!! We have a lot of raking ahead of us. But I love fall anyway and it is a good thing I have 4 boys!! Millie
