Just a regular Saturday!

So, Hannah helped me put a background on my blog page and is helping her dad figure out the music part. Now I need to start taking some pictures so I have something fun to share. I can not believe we are half way through January. I did finally get the last of the Christmas things put away this week. I think next year I am going with the theme "Less is More" so it does not take so long to put away. Now I have all the snow men out and we look wintery. Of course the grass is green and the bulbs are trying to come up but we are winter in the house and on the front porch.
Today Rob and the boys cleaned up the basement and set up an exercise area with the weights, bench and bike. I think there is going to be some serious body building going on down there. They also set up a ping pong table!! Don't know yet how serious that is going to get!
The sun was shining today so Isaac and Luke (the boy wearing shorts) thought they should get to set up the tent and camp outside now that summer is here!! They don't realize that that smoke coming out of their mouth is their breath and that summer is still 5 months away. Mom can be such a party pooper.
Monday we have a holiday for Martin Luther King day or Human Rights day, I am not sure what we call it in Washington. The boys are all planning on which friends to have over! Except for Sam. He will be spending the day at the school practicing with the Advance Jazz band (he plays the upright bass). They are going to Georgia in March. He is very excited to go and willing to give up a few soccer games (the HS season will be starting about then) to go. They are also hoping to go to New York a little later in the year. Still waiting to hear back on their audition for that one. So we have some major fund raising to look forward to in the next few weeks!! Any one interested in some cookie dough?

We made it to January!

Whew!! I was beginning to wonder if we would make it to January!! We have had an unbelievable winter for us. And just when we think the snow is all gone we wake up to more!! Today there is no snow but lots of flooding and rain, rain, rain. Or maybe that is just my tears cause I miss Hannah!! She made it back to Rexburg thanks so much to her Aunt Maudie and Uncle Rick. I don't know what we would do with out them. I had a friend of Hannah's tell me Sunday that she was getting into IF real late on Monday and if her flight was delayed she didn't know if anyone would want to pick her up. I thought, she needs an Aunt Maudie and Uncle Rick!! We love you guys!!
With everyone in school things are busy around here but always quieter when Hannah is gone!! I have a long list of things to get done around the house. We shall see just how much actually gets done!! I need to pretend we are moving and fix up everything the realtor would want done!! And then do it!! Maybe I'll put a sign out front and see what happens! Maybe I'll just start with getting the Christmas decorations put away!!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

We, as a family are grateful for the wonderful gift of our Savior Jesus Christ. On our piano we have a plaque with a statement by Neal A Maxwell that reads:

"Each of us in an innkeeper who decides if there is room for Jesus"
As we celebrate his birth, we are striving to remember to make room for for him in our hearts and in our home. It's not always and easy thing to do but we feel his love and peace in our hearts when we do. We wish for you and yours a wonderful Christmas season and hope that you are able to find room for the Savior of the World in your hearts. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year.

With Love,

The Henrikson's

Survived the Holidays

I have long dreamed of a white Christmas since we lived in Utah. This year the dream came to fruition. However, the snow came a week early and by the time Christmas came, we were all going stir crazy with being stuck at home. On the first day of snow Sam, David and Isaac made this snowman. We ended up with about a foot of snow before we were all done, with a layer of ice on top of it. (not much fun to play in). Driving was difficult because The Battle Ground Henrikson's are not equipped with snow tires or winter driving vehicles. We were unable to do some of the traditional activities that we normally do at Christmas time, so that was disappointing. But we all had a great Christmas!
