I love my red house.

A few years ago Rob and I decided to paint the house (actually we had the house painted!!) We looked at lots and lots of colors. I wanted red but Rob took some convincing. I drove him around the county showing him red houses and told him how ours would be different. Instead of white trim we used a cream. And the doors and porch floor are blue. We got lots of comments from our neighbors as the painting was happening. All of them positive. I love to tell people we are the red house on the right!! It is great for decorating in July!! And it looks real good at Christmas time. My dilemma is fall. Orange pumpkins clash just a bit. But I am doing it anyway. My visiting teacher brought me some pumpkins and I have dug out the scarecrows. I am filling all my old metal colanders with apples from our trees and those little mini pumpkins. I am going to get some of those fairytale pumpkins that are all weird shaped and gourds. I love fall. Especially if we have an Indian summer and the leaves don't get all rained on and blown off before they turn colors. Hopefully my next blog will be our porch decked out in its fall colors.

Pictures I took and those I wish I'd taken on our trip to Idaho!!

When we took Hannah back to Rexburg I thought I would blog the trip, but of course I kept forgetting to take pictures. Here I wish I had a picture of us taking off in a car packed with Hannah's things! She almost didn't fit in the back seat!! The picture I have is of the windmills that dot the hills along the freeway after you leave the gorge. They are huge!!

This is how we know we are close to Hermiston!! These trees line the freeway and the rows are so straight you can look all the way down them to the end. They are raised to make paper because they are fast growing. Now I wish I had a picture of Cindi's house!!

Instead you get one of the Columbia River Temple. Okay you are right. This is not the Columbia River Temple, I inserted the wrong picture. (And as Hannah knows I do not know how to move them once I have put them in!!) This is the Rexburg temple where we took a walk on Sunday night.

Here is the Columbia River Temple!! It was beautiful at night.

Here is Ben with his family outside the temple after we went through a session. It was so nice to be in the temple with the Jorgensen family and to be with Ben.

Afterwards we went to Carl's Jr. And had some laughs!! It can't be helped with both Stuart and Derek in the place!!

Now I wish I had a picture of Cindi's family loading up for their camping trip!! Or one of Grandma and Grandpa before they took off. Instead I have one of the Subway in Ontario where we ate lunch on our way to Twin. It would have been fun if I had gotten a picture of the two girls we saw with bright pink hair. But I did not.

This is the book I read aloud to Rob while he drove. We almost finished it on the ride home Tuesday. It is one Hannah suggested called "The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane" by Katherine Howe.

This is Rob watching the BYU football game at Maudie and Rick's house in Twin Falls. They were not there but were good enough to let us stay over.

Here is Bronco Mendenhall during a tense moment in the game!!

Here is the team when we won the game!! It was a great game to watch. Afterward we took Hannah to Applebees. But of course I do not have a picture!!

Sunday we went to the 4th ward and then made lunch at the Vipperman's. Rob made brownies! YUM!!

Here is Hannah happy to be back in Rexburg!! I wish I had the temple picture here!! and I wish I had a picture of Chelsea and Nick and their cute apartment.

We stayed at Derek and Stephanie's place in Rexburg. They were camping with their family and were kind to let us stay. We did feed the fish. Of course I do not have a picture of us unloading the car or any of Hannah's room mates!!

Before we left Rexburg we took Hannah to dinner at Bajios. Very good Mexican food!! It was reccomended to us by the Riries who we ran in to quite a bit while in Rexburg but of course did not take a picture!!

This is Hannah's apartment door. She now lives in 107 right across the way from her old apartment 108.

This is her lovely room that she shares with Cassidy. It was all unpacked and set up and ready to go when we left. I can picture Hannah there. I do not have a picture of Maudie and Rick or Marc and Ashley and little Drage who let us stay with them on our way home on Monday night.
Or any pictures of the ride home!! But it was good to get out of the car and be home. Millie

Things I love about Stake Conference.

This weekend was our stake conference. And as usual it was really good. But for some reason the Saturday night session was especially good. Rob and I have been talking about how we need to get to the temple more and set days to go and do it. And of course the whole meeting was about the ordinances we do and the covenants we make and the importance of the temple. It just helped us to realize we are on the right track and I love it when that happens.

Sunday we had a broadcast stake conference that happened all over Washington and Alaska. President Monson spoke and just set me up for General Conference in a couple of weeks. Which I always look forward to. Elder Oaks spoke directly to the primary children and had them all stand up and sing "Follow the Prophet" with some of his grandchildren. That was so great. I serve in the Stake Primary and to see the children stand and sing together was very touching. You know how it is when children sing the primary songs. Your eyes automatically tear up because the spirit is always there so strong.

They were great meetings. I love our Stake Presidency and can feel the love they have for our stake and its members. I look forward to General Conference and hearing from our prophet again and the rest of the brethern.

I also love that we had the early session and I got to come home and take a Sunday nap!! I look forward to meeting at 9:00 next year and having the whole day after church for reading and napping and laying on the bed talking with my kids!! Millie

I miss Hannah!!

We took Hannah back to BYU-I this last weekend. And now that I am home and settling back in.... I miss her!! I folded laundry this morning and found some of her clothes. Some one called from a sign up she did at the fair looking for her. The public library called to say she has books on hold. And when I went to the mail box she had mail, her conference tickets came. I shopped at Costco today and saw some cute socks I know she would love (they had some argyle ones!!)
I passed by her favorite cereal at Winco. Yes, I do miss my lovely, funny, silly, loving, exciting, wonderful daughter!! How many days til Thanksgiving break? Millie

The annual Henrikson before school fashion show.

Every year before school starts we have fashion show. It started when the kids were little but they all like to put on their new stuff and show it off still! Last night we held ours so Hannah could be a part before she leaves for school. You have to picture music playing and someone announcing each person and describing what they are wearing. (Each kid picks out music for their part and some even for each outfit!!)

We should have video taped it so you could see Sam bustin his moves!! I love these argyle shirts from old navy.

Here's David with his "I am not ready to go back to school, I just want to juggle soccer balls in my backyard" look.

Issac with his "I'm going a little more dressed up today" look.

Hannah in her pretty in pink and green look.

Isaac and Luke in their "in the hood" look!!

David in his shirt mom bought for his school pictures outfit!!

Isaac sporting orange (Battle Ground school colors).

Luke doing his Mission Impossible dance!! Sorry we did not get this video taped for you!! It is truly fun to watch!! He is showing off his new converse shoes.

Sam in his GQ look!! With his billabong shirt and his brown converse shoes!!

Hannah ready to go back to school including her new shoes and bag!!

And here they all are!! I love these kids!! When did they all grow up? Millie
