Oh Christmas Tree....

First you pick out the perfect tree.

Then you cut it down.

You haul it home.

You cut off about 2 feet from the bottom and a foot from the top. You put it in the stand and move it in to the house. After some maneuvering it from left to right about a billion times and finding the perfect frontal view you are ready for the lights. After about 5 hours and 12 strands of lights your tree is all lit up!!

Add a little garland, we prefer red beads.

After adding everyones decorations it is perfect for the pajama picture.

Or kissing in front of!!

And of course caring for all the gifts until Christmas morning. And after giving us a month of joy and light and adding cheer to our holiday season, tomorrow we will take it down. We will put away all the decorations and the beads. We will unwind the lights and wonder why we put so many on and had to have them on every branch. Then we will put it outside on the patio where it will stand for a few days until the wind blows it over and Millie gets tired of picking it up. Then one of the boys will haul it to the burn pile. But it will still be with us for a while because every time we vacuum the living room we will smell the pine needles we have vacuumed up and remember our beautiful tree and look forward to next year when the process will start all over again.
